Conor Oberst recently told Rolling Stone magazine that it may soon be time to hang up the Bright Eyes persona. In the interview, he said, “It does feel like it needs to stop at some point. I’d like to clean it up, lock the door, say goodbye.”
So what’s to become of the Bright Eyes moniker? Oberst reportedly plans to record new material through this winter and next spring for one last release in 2010. His record company believes he simply wishes to divorce himself of the association eventually so he can move on with other things.
